Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

QuoteLasso is used by contractors (our customers, who create accounts) to email their own customers, usually homeowners who received an estimate. This policy covers both groups.

When a contractor adds their customers to QuoteLasso, the contractor decides whose information goes in and what is sent. The contractor is responsible for having a real relationship with those customers and for the follow-up emails sent in their name. We process that customer information on the contractor’s behalf, to provide the service.

What we collect

From contractors

• Account information: your name, business name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider, never in plain text).
• Settings you choose, such as follow-up timing, your email template, and the address where replies should go.
• Subscription status and plan, received from Stripe.

About contractors’ customers (entered by the contractor)

• Customer names and email addresses.
• Estimate details, such as the job description, amount, dates, and notes.
• Follow-up history: which emails were scheduled, sent, delivered, bounced, or marked as spam, and whether the customer unsubscribed.

Homeowner replies

When a customer replies to a follow-up, the reply goes to a QuoteLasso reply address and is forwarded to the contractor’s email. We pass the reply contents (and any attachments) through in order to forward them. We don’t keep a copy of the message text after forwarding. We do keep a short record that a reply arrived, including the sender’s address, subject line, and time, so we can stop further follow-ups and show the contractor that the customer replied.

Billing

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe. QuoteLasso never sees or stores your full card number. We receive information such as your Stripe customer ID, plan, and subscription status.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider processes basic request information such as IP addresses and browser type to deliver pages and protect against abuse. We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to make the app work. We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers.

How we use information

• To run the service: store estimates, draft and send follow-ups, forward replies, and stop follow-ups when a customer replies or unsubscribes.
• To manage accounts, subscriptions, and billing.
• To send you service messages, such as sign-in codes, billing notices, and important changes.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and spam, and fix problems.
• To meet legal obligations.

We don’t use your customers’ information to market to them, and we don’t send it to AI providers.

We don’t sell your data

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers below, who help us run QuoteLasso, or when required by law.

Service providers (subprocessors)

We use these companies to provide QuoteLasso. They process information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their services:

• Supabase: database and account sign-in. Stores account, estimate, and follow-up data.
• Resend: sends follow-up emails, forwarded replies, and account emails, and reports delivery, bounces, and spam complaints.
• Cloudflare: hosts the website and app and receives customer replies sent to our reply addresses.
• Stripe: processes subscription payments and manages billing.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply to the information transferred).

Unsubscribing from follow-ups

Every follow-up email includes a link to stop follow-ups. When a customer uses it, QuoteLasso stops sending that contractor’s follow-ups to that email address and records the opt-out so it’s honored in the future. Replying to a follow-up also stops further follow-ups for that estimate. If you received a follow-up and want help, email elliot@quotelasso.com.

How long we keep information

We keep account and estimate data while the contractor’s account is open, so the service works. Contractors can delete estimates in the app at any time. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we’ll delete it from our active systems within 30 days, except for records we need to keep for legal, tax, billing, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, Stripe billing records) and opt-out records, which we keep so we don’t email someone who asked us to stop. Backups held by our providers are overwritten on their normal schedule.

To request deletion, email elliot@quotelasso.com from the email address on your account. If you’re a contractor’s customer, you can contact the contractor directly or email us, and we’ll help.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that keep each contractor’s data separate, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we’ll notify you as required by law.

California privacy rights (CCPA)

If you’re a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose (this policy describes it).
• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don’t sell or share it, so there’s nothing to opt out of.
• Not be discriminated against for using these rights.

To make a request, email elliot@quotelasso.com. We’ll verify your request by confirming it from the email address we have on file and respond within the time the law requires. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. If your information was added by a contractor, we may refer your request to that contractor, or work with them to respond.

Children

QuoteLasso is a business tool and isn’t meant for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We’ll post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we’ll let contractors know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
