Follow up on roofing estimates before they go quiet

A roof number is easy to sit on. The homeowner is comparing other bids, waiting on insurance, or just busy. A short follow-up keeps your estimate in the conversation.

Where the estimate stalls

  • The bid goes out and the phone doesn’t

You measured, wrote the scope, and sent the price. Then the week fills up with tear-offs and the follow-up never happens.

  • They are comparing other roofers

A plain check-in gives them a reason to ask you about a line item before they pick someone they heard from more recently.

  • The job is large enough to delay

People wait on a roof replacement. Asking if they want the estimate kept open is more useful than a vague “just checking in.”

Following up on your roof estimate

Hi Maria,

I wanted to make sure you received the roof replacement estimate I sent on Tuesday for $12,800. Do you have any questions on the scope?

Thanks,

Any questions on the roof estimate?

Hi Maria,

Checking in on the roof estimate for $12,800. If you’re comparing bids, I can walk through what’s included, including haul-away.

Subject

Should I close your roof estimate?

Hi Maria,

Last note on the roof estimate for $12,800. If I don’t hear back, I’ll close it. Reply if you want it kept open or if the work moved to later.

Thanks,

How QuoteLasso helps

  • Add the customer, email, amount, and job. You can type it in, forward the estimate, or import a spreadsheet.
  • The default schedule is 2, 5, and 10 days. Day 10 is the last email. You see the dates before you save, and you can change them.
  • The first check-in, the second reminder, and the final follow-up each have their own wording. The customer sees your business name and the address followups@quotelasso.com.
  • During the 14-day Starter trial, due follow-ups send on their own. Turn that off in Settings and nothing goes out until you press Send.
  • After the trial, the Free plan stays manual. Starter ($79/month) and Pro ($149/month) turn automatic sending back on.
  • When a customer replies, the rest of the follow-ups stop. Every email has a link to unsubscribe.

Questions

How many times should a roofer follow up on an estimate?

QuoteLasso’s default is three emails: 2, 5, and 10 days after you send the estimate. The last one should say you’re going to stop. You can change those days.

What if the homeowner is waiting on insurance?

Say so in the note and ask them to reply when they know. Don’t keep the same “just checking in” email going. A reply in QuoteLasso stops the remaining follow-ups.

Does QuoteLasso write the roof estimate?

No. You price the job the way you already do. QuoteLasso tracks the estimate and the follow-ups after you’ve sent it.

Start with the roofing estimates you sent this week.

Add one estimate. QuoteLasso shows you when the follow-ups are due and drafts the email in your words.
