Joist alternative

A Joist alternative for automatic estimate follow-ups

As of October 24, 2026.

Joist is where a lot of contractors write the estimate and the invoice. QuoteLasso starts after the price is sent. It reminds you who to follow up with and can send the email. It does not replace Joist.

QuoteLasso compared with Joist on estimate follow-ups, as of October 24, 2026.
TopicQuoteLassoJoist
Follow-up emailsYou add the estimate. QuoteLasso schedules the emails (2, 5, and 10 days by default) and drafts each step. During the trial, and on Starter and Pro, due follow-ups can send on their own. You can turn that off and press Send.Joist’s help center, as of October 24, 2026, documents notifications when a client opens an email, views a document, or signs it. Those notifications are described as a Joist Pro feature. This page does not claim that is the same as a scheduled follow-up sequence.
Who hears about itThe customer gets the follow-up email. You get a copy of their reply in your inbox, and the rest of the sequence stops. The Joist articles above describe notifications to you when the client opens, views, or signs. They are alerts for you, not a script of emails to the customer.
InvoicesQuoteLasso does not send invoices or payment reminders. It is only the estimate follow-up.Joist’s help center documents a payment reminder you send yourself for an overdue invoice, with a subject and message you can edit before you tap Send.
Writing the estimateYou don’t build the estimate in QuoteLasso. You enter the customer, email, amount, and job, or import a spreadsheet.Joist is estimating and invoicing software. Keep using it to write the price if that’s what you use now.

Checked against Joist’s public help center on October 24, 2026. Joist may offer other features that are not in those articles. If a fact is not in the links below, it is not on this page.

There is no Joist integration. You copy the customer, the job, and the amount into QuoteLasso yourself.

How QuoteLasso helps

  • Add the customer, email, amount, and job. You can type it in, forward the estimate, or import a spreadsheet.
  • The default schedule is 2, 5, and 10 days. Day 10 is the last email. You see the dates before you save, and you can change them.
  • The first check-in, the second reminder, and the final follow-up each have their own wording. The customer sees your business name and the address followups@quotelasso.com.
  • During the 14-day Starter trial, due follow-ups send on their own. Turn that off in Settings and nothing goes out until you press Send.
  • After the trial, the Free plan stays manual. Starter ($79/month) and Pro ($149/month) turn automatic sending back on.
  • When a customer replies, the rest of the follow-ups stop. Every email has a link to unsubscribe.

Questions

Does QuoteLasso replace Joist?

No. QuoteLasso does not build estimates, send invoices, or take payments. It follows up after you have already given the customer a price.

Does QuoteLasso connect to my Joist account?

No. Add the estimate in QuoteLasso, or import a spreadsheet. Nothing is pulled from Joist automatically.

What does the free trial include?

A new QuoteLasso account gets 14 days of the Starter plan, with automatic sending and no card. When it ends, you stay on the Free plan and send each follow-up yourself unless you upgrade.

Try the follow-up on its own.

QuoteLasso is the emails after the estimate, not a second CRM. Add a job you’ve already priced and see the schedule before anything sends.
