Estimate close-rate calculator

A calculator for monthly revenue tied to estimates that get no follow-up. Every figure comes from the numbers you type. It does not use an industry close rate, and it is not a forecast that follow-up will win the job.

The arithmetic

  1. Estimates with no follow-up = estimates sent × the percent that get no follow-up.
  2. Revenue left on the table = those estimates × your close rate × the average job value.
  3. Projected gain = those estimates × the lift you chose × the average job value. The lift cannot push the close rate past 100%.

One worked example, so the formula is visible without typing. It is not a recommended close rate. 20 estimates, a $5,000 average job, a 30% close rate, 50% with no follow-up, and a 10-point lift: that is 10 unanswered estimates, $15,000 left on the table, and $5,000 of projected gain. Change any input and both results change. None of those five inputs is a QuoteLasso statistic.

How many estimates or quotes you send in a typical month.

Dollars, before tax. The value of the average job, not your best one.

Percent of estimates that become a job today. 30 means 30%.

Percent of those estimates that never get a follow-up from you.

Percentage points, not a promise. 10 means you want to see a rate 10 points higher.

Enter a number in each field. Nothing is calculated until you do.

Questions about this calculator

Is this an industry close rate?

No. The page multiplies the estimates, the job value, the close rate, the share with no follow-up, and the lift you type. It does not look up a typical rate for roofers, painters, or anyone else.

What does “left on the table” mean here?

Unanswered estimates times your current close rate times the average job value. It is the monthly revenue those quiet estimates would represent if they closed at the rate you already get. It is not money you are owed, and it is not a prediction.

What is the projected gain?

The same unanswered estimates, times the lift you chose, times the average job value. The lift is in percentage points. If your close rate is 40% and you type 70 points, only 60 points are used, because the rate stops at 100%. The page is not saying follow-up will produce that lift.

Does QuoteLasso text customers to raise the close rate?

No. Scheduled follow-ups are email. Text opens your phone’s Messages app with the customer’s number and the message filled in. You send it.

Follow up on the estimates that went out with none.

Add one estimate you already sent. QuoteLasso drafts the email and shows the dates before you save. 14-day trial, no card, then the Free plan.
