What the calendar really depends on

Texture has to dry before paint. If a painter is already booked, the follow-up should line up with that day.

If they need longer

Drywall bids seem small, so they wait behind larger projects, or behind a debate about whether to skim the whole ceiling. The person paying the painter will ask if the ceiling flash will show. Answer that. Do not include paint in a drywall price unless you are actually painting it.
