Gutter bids stall when someone is deciding between a clean-and-reseal and a full replacement. Guards are usually the add-on a second person asks about after reading the price.
What the example price means
The price is the footage and the number of corners, plus haul-away. Guards are extra because they are a different product. Included: 5-inch aluminum gutters and downspouts on the whole house, hauled-away old metal. Left out: gutter guards, and any fascia boards that are soft and need a carpenter. Do not include rotted fascia in a gutter price and hope it holds.
When to send them
Before the heavy rain is a real reason to schedule. After the first storm, the same bid is a repair conversation. The default schedule is still day 2, day 5, and day 10. Day 10 is the last email.
