Where this bid stalls
Excavation bids wait on access for the machine and on a locate ticket that is not in yet. The builder, not the homeowner, often has to accept the access plan.
What the example price means
Haul-off and access are the price. Rock is extra because nobody knows it until the bucket hits it. Included: dig, haul-off of the spoil, and backfill after the walls are poured. Left out: utility locates you still need to schedule, and rock if we hit it. Do not include unknown rock in a firm price.
When to send them
Mud season changes how the machine gets in. Say so if the driveway will not hold the truck. The default schedule is still day 2, day 5, and day 10. Day 10 is the last email. Same-day notes are optional. The customer sees your business name and the address followups@quotelasso.com. A reply comes to your inbox and the remaining follow-ups stop.
