What the example price means
The price includes the code pieces a retail install sometimes leaves out, which is why it is not the sticker on the tank. Included: a 50-gallon gas water heater, haul-away, and the code straps and pan. Left out: a reroute of the flue, if the inspector wants metal instead of the existing vent. Do not match a retail price by leaving out the pan, the straps, or the permit.
